National Rocketry Challenge

24th and 25th August 2015: We introduced the solid fuel category during the recent National Rocketry Challenge to bring excitement after 13 years of competition using water rockets. During the first day, the top 19 schools in Malaysia went through our Advanced Rocketry Workshop and designed and built their rockets. They were judged for rocket design and teamwork. The folowing day, the teams were impressive with their launches and were judged for apogee and parachute deployment. In the end, MRSM Pasir Salak, Perak emerged as the winner narrowly beating SMK Khir Johari also from Perak and the rest of he field. We had fun and hope that the students did too. We would like to thank Planetarium Negara and MOSTI for having us and we look forward to the solid fuel category being a permanent part of the national competiton. We would also like to thank our new volunteers and mentors (Uncle Zul, Jenal, Subly and Nazmi) for contributing towards the success of the programme. Thank you guys!!! We’re wishing everyone a great “Merdeka Day” ahead. Do enjoy the pictures…
