In an effort to be more jazzy and current, our dearest association is going through a transformation. Our acronym of AAM is being retired and will be replaced by our new name and image which is more dynamic and catchy. We present to you… the new us… AstroX!!! Astro is short for Astronautical and X signifies “mystery”, “mystique”, “space age” and everythng that’s cool about the space and universe. 3,2,1.. Blast off AstroX!!!

We conducted a Rocketry demonstration for the school kids of Sekolah Rendah Stella Maris at the Planetarium Negara today. We would also like to thank our corporate sponsor J-Biotech for sponsoring the event.

Friday 27th February 2015: We conducted an advanced rocketry workshop in Kolej Matrikulasi Selangor in which 10 groups of students and lecturers got to experience designing their own rockets and launching them sky high. The competition resulted with both the lecturers team taking the two top spots to their relief. The workshop was held in conjunction with their “Science Carnival 2015”. In the end everyone had fun and the event was a great success.

We organized a Space Symposium at the Planetarium Negara today in an effort to promote aerospace studies to college students and the general public. A total of six speakers were invited to present their papers related to the field of astronautics and space science. We’re pleased to announce that our Head of Projects, Mohd Yusfi Md Yusop received an award presented by the Menteri Besar of Selangor for coming in third in the MyInovation Challenge. The award was presented on the 17th of November 2014. In a separate event, I received the Community Achievement Award from the Malaysian Australian Alumni Council on the 4th of December 2014.
